Our Team Working for you
We have a team comprising Michael Turvey, Isobel Knights, Martyn Knights, Cllr Sarah Dickinson and members active in the various parts of our area. Michael is our parliamentary spokesperson. He was the Liberal Democrat candidate for the constituency of West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine (WAK for short) at the last Westminster general election. Isobel Knights and Martyn Knights are active in the Mearns. Sarah is one of 14 Lib Dem councillors on Aberdeenshire Council. The others represent other parts of Aberdeenshire.
They will all work hard for you and your communities.
Michael Turvey
Michael Turvey has been selected to be the Liberal Democrat candidate for the constituency of West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine (WAK for short) at the next Westminster general election. Michael is married with three children and lives in the countryside between Stonehaven and Banchory.
- Michael has fifteen years of industrial experience.

Michael has worked in the North Sea energy industry in Production, Maintenance, Joint-Ventures, Supply Chain and Crisis Management.

He is currently focused on major projects delivering new gas and reducing emissions.
Michael lives in a farming area and listens carefully to local farmers and rural workers.

Michael's Priorities
Michael has five priorities for stability, care and trust and the experience to deliver them:

Cost of living - Michael's experience with large budgets will help restore economic credibility with sound budgeting and zero tolerance of corruption.

Energy and Climate - Michael's industry knowledge will help to tackle the energy security crisis and climate crisis strategically and support investment.

Resolve the strikes – Michael coordinated the resolution of the first North Sea strikes in 30 years restoring trust with the workforce. He will promote better relationships with public sector workers and fair deals for the public purse.

Reduce Brexit Chaos - Michael's education in EU Law and language skills will help reduce chaos for famers, fishermen and businesses through better relations with Europe.

Prevent Scottish Independence - Michael's campaign skills will be deployed to beat the SNP and promote a consensus for a federal UK.

Councillor Sarah Dickinson
Sarah has been councillor for Stonehaven and Lower Deeside since 2017. She is Deputy Leader of the Lib Dem Group on Aberdeenshire Council, Chair of Kincardine and Mearns Area Committee and Chair of the Sustainability Committee.
